St. Georges was the first Anglican Church consecrated in the Colony of South Australia (1848). It currently has two services on a Sunday, an 8:30 traditional service and a 10:30 contemporary family service.
Our Vision Statement
St George’s will be a prayerful family which brings glory to Jesus Christ, by applying God’s word to our lives, and using our gifts and resources to proclaim the gospel at every opportunity in Magill and beyond
Our beliefs are summarised in the 39 Articles of Religion, and worked out in the principles and theology of the Book of Common Prayer. As an Anglican reformed, evangelical church, we affirm the truths laid out in the Nicene, Apostles, and Athanasian Creeds. The Parish Council also works to ensure Parish ministries align with the Jerusalem Declaration. At the centre of our beliefs lies the Bible as our ultimate authority, and the saving work of Jesus Christ on the cross as our only means of salvation.
